I don't think I've ever watched It's a Wonderful Life. It's not like it isn't on tons of channels at this time of year, just haven't watched it. Scrooged I loved though.
I think I stopped watching Community before the animated Christmas special. I don't remember the Eureka one (and I've seen most of it).
Not technically a Christmas episode, but the Seinfeld one with Festivus was pretty good. I've been watching old episodes of Night Court and I think there were at least one or two quite funny ones. I'm sure there have been plenty, but obviously not memorable.
Just a few classic movies: A Christmas Carol (1984 version done by Fox starting George C. Scott) - not a fan of the 1938 version or the newer versions which came along in recent times. A Christmas story (1983) and of course the old standard: It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
i don't really have any "movie" memories from back then as we didn't get a TV until i was about 12, and even then, we didn't have cable until i was 15...i watched a bit of stuff after school, but i was more of an outdoor kid.
Charlie Brown Christmas. I love the out of tune singing. Old Frosty the Snowman animated special. Rudolph (puppet version). And of course How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It doesn't feel like christmas unless I can watch all 4 of those shows. My kids like Home Alone. -- ~ Project Hope ~
This was a classic in our household for years. It's cheesy now, but brings back great memories. It looks like the YouTube video is actually the whole film (it wasn't a long one). -- "Moving your Tylenol to the low shelf in your medicine cabinet is not the way to prevent children from falling off a stool when reaching for the top shelf." thanks for the reminder, I have to play the vince guarldi CD like part of the charlie brown
The first time I watched "Christmas Vacation" was many years ago at the beginning of Christmas holidays when I had booked a good chunk of time off until January, and I've associated it with Christmas cheer ever since. It's a real modern classic and probably one of the most joyous of the modern Christmas films. Of course every imaginable bad thing happens to poor old Clark Griswold, but it's all in fun. And the main theme is a great Christmas song! -- "The promoters of the global economy see nothing odd or difficult about unlimited economic growth or unlimited consumption in a limited world." Wendell Berry
OMG, the last few minutes of The Big Bang Theory tonight was hysterical.
The eye candy at the beginning was pretty good, too.
Dirty old man! I do have to agree though!
I have never liked A Christmas Story. I have always thought the story was just dumb.
I have A Christmas Carol (Alistar Sim version) on DVD. My all time favourite. I still will watch all versions, George C Scott, etc.
I love all the classic animated specials, Grinch, Charlie Brown, Rudolf, etc.
WKRP did a good Christmas one. Not as good as the turkey drop, but not bad -- The irony of common sense, it is not that common. I cannot deny anything I did not say. A kitten dies every time someone uses "then" and "than" incorrectly. I mock people who give their children odd spelling of names.
