There seems to be a air of arrogance and pretentious idiots running the current nzb sites. Bitcoin ......in their dreams. Begging for an invite....not going to happen. Everyone wants an idiot proof indexing site and to be spoon fed their downloads. Headers via a news reader of choice worked a decade ago and it still works today. |

nzbsrus are ok. they have struggled since the original takedown a few years back. slow servers, can't accept funds, that kind of thing.
I suppose if its only a few dollars, whats the worse that can happen.
I'm not sure how much longer they can hold out until they get more server issues, run out of money, or get taken down by law encorcement. They don't seem to have the best of luck. |

To an extent that's true. But because of the DMCA takedowns, some of the posters are uploading with coded headers. Header downloads don't help in those cases, unless you plan on downloading a part or two from each crazy header. The indexing sites, as far as I can tell, can decode them somehow.

| Getting headers from not so popular groups is a PITA but is certainly doable today. Try doing this today on alt.binaries.multimedia or boneless and it might take you all night to get through like 20 million of them.
Sure, I'm up for headers but is there a newsreader client that can do the following?
a) collect/grab all headers in a particular subscribed newsgroup by the month/year maybe even by just a particular day?
b) get headers using all the connections you specify - not just one connection that takes like 1/8 of your bandwidth. (I use Newleecher) |

| a) Newsbin will let you load them from a set date range.
b) with header compression it shouldn't matter much... Astraweb and Newsbin will max my connection with header downloads. Each group acts as a separate connection so you can download more groups if your provider cant max it with one connection.
Newsbin will also let you search within groups, so you can set up more than one group for movies and search for a title between more than one group.
