Cable Card alternativesIs there any devices that does not need a PC but will work with a cable card to give a simple screen guide and HD? I'm tired of the cable provided boxes that just SUCK

Tivo is what I chose in the same situation. |

Without a PC, your only options other than the set-top-box would be a TV with a cable card slot, or a TIVO unit. |

I wonder if a used Moxi set-top would work? (They've stopped selling directly to the consumers but they haven't stopped guide services, etc to existing customers and you can still activate one through their website). |

$17.00 but, I don't want to pay $20, $20. $20 plus the cable card fee hence why I'm looking for a box that you can slide the cable card in and not spend the $15.00 a month for the standard boxes (craplorer 4240HDC with 1998 graphics)

An Xbox gives 70+ channels over Verizon FIOS. |
