| [Anveo] Anveo Keep-alive server? I noticed that anveo is contacting my client about every 30s. Is this configurable and what is this about?
Also, my device can do a keep live thing. does anveo host such a server?
Just trying different ways to keep my firewall open without using NAT port forwarding.
Thanks! -- dnoyeB "Then said I, Wisdom [is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom [is] despised, and his words are not heard. " Ecclesiastes 9:16

| I don't know about Anveo but in general, the server may send keep alive messages so when an incoming call comes in, the path to your ATA is open for the SIP INVITE message. As far as doing the keep alive from the ATA, I don't see any point in using a server other than the one you register to (or the proxy server in case the provider uses one). That's because the path needs to be kept open between the server you're receiving the calls from, not another random host. If your ATA is a Linksys SPA or PAP2(T) series, the default value of the NAT Keep Alive Dest: field ($PROXY) is usually OK -- Providers (through asterisk): voip.ms, freephoneline, smartcall.ro. Hardware: Vonage VDV21, Moto VT2x42, Linksys SPA series, Grandstream HT series, Panasonic KX-TGP5x0 »www.voipfan.net |
