I even filled out those 'send me an email when FIOS is available in your area' things (and no I don't want your shitty DSL!). I did one for pretty much all 100 apartments, in case Verizon was monitoring potential demand. Finally, I simply gave up.

A few weeks back, I saw a FIOS truck working in a well on adjacent street, but didn't think much of it. I figured they are just fixing Sandy damage (my town got completely flooded).

Then, after I got home last night, I saw a piece of paper in my mail. It stated that TrueNet contractor, will run fiber conduits to every single unit within next 3 weeks, and Verizon will get in touch with us afterwards. When I read that, I felt like a little kid again - THIS IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!

I can't wait to cancel TWC, and return their shitty modem. No more waiting for hours to upload a video to youtube. No more lag in online games. No more buffering when watching a 1080p VUDU movie. I can't wait!
