Copyright Suits: Boycott industry over Xmas!

Just an idea but with the Christmas gift buying season coming up, one way to show your opposition to these Copyright Infringement Lawsuit is to boycott all entertainment media products over the holidays.

In other words, don't buy any CDs, DVDs, Bluray, or buy/gift movies, music, TV shows from iTune, Google Play, Amazon, etc.

If you already bought any of these, return them and if they ask for a reason, say the Copyright Infringement Lawsuit. I'm not sure the retailers will care but so what, let's make the point.

Don't go out to movies during the holidays. Don't go to any concerts.

If you want change, don't expect it from our politicians. Hit the industry where it hurts: their wallets!

Save yourself the money was nothing special, the first three are WAY better.

Do what I do hit up the pawn shops. Two days ago I got 8 dvd's and two box sets for $50 all at the expense of the media companies.

It's the first time a Bourne movie put me to sleep. It's not that great.

Total of three people telling me not to bother, so I think I'll just find something on Netflix - and maybe it will be on Netflix sooner rather than later.

Yeah you can get some good deals in stores that sell used movies (unless you're selling - hehe). If it's recent enough you may be paying close to full price for it though.

Great suggestion! There are tons of used CD/DVD stores all over the place. Let's do whatever we can to keep money out of pockets of the industry.

You need to find the bigger ones that are around. For example here Cash Converters is switching to BR so most of their DVD's are $2.99 and buy 5 get 1 free. There's always a change a store wont have the newest ones but I saw quite a few new movies when I bought the last batch. They had Prometheus and others.

Already Boycotting the industry and the main thing you can do is remember how the Cons and Harper sold us out to the industry next election.

I'm not a huge fan of the way the entertainment industry conducts itself in general, but if you're talking about the Hurt Locker related legal action, that's just one small production company that doesn't sound like it's in step with the rest of the industry. It seems the smaller a company is, the more likely they are to make deals with shady lawyers (porn companies are doing the most of this lawsuit-threatening).

What I'm saying is I'm not sure how a blanket boycott of product from places like Comcast or Disney is going to make them force small independent Voltage Pictures to change its behaviour?

I also do not endorse The Bourne Legacy. Neflix is where it's at as far as boycotting goes, even though my connection is barely fast enough for poor quality.
