It's a good car. No doubt about that.
Nevertheless for approximately the same range of dough I would prefer a Mercedes E550 with most of the optional toys. The one potential drawback is you cannot get RWD in the E550 sedan. It is strictly AWD. Only the E550 Coupe or two-door sedan offers RWD.
Of course if you want an "E" class sedan that is a rocket with RWD and a locking differential for only 30-40 grand extra you can buy the E63.
The main functional difference between the two vehicles is the Mercedes is an intermediate size car and the Hyundai is a full size sedan. Consequently the Mercedes doesn't have the rear seat room that the Hyundai does. Also the cost of maintenance and repair for the Mercedes outside of warranty is higher.
