Cast iron sink

Does anyone know of a way to cut out a cast iron sink without damaging the tile counter?
I thought I had posted this earlier but couldn't find it. Excuse me if it is a double post.

Is the sink set down in the tile with no metal trim? In other words, can you wipe crumbs directly from tile into the sink?

Sink was set and tiled over the edges, with 1/4 round tile.
I'm hoping to get it out and leave tile undisturbed allowing installation of drop in.

Just wondering, why are you removing it? Can get a new porcelain finish applied in place if that's the reason.

The quarter-round edge pieces will have to be sacrificed... at a minimum.

You could cut it out with a shitload of dremel wheels.. and a lotta mess..

Otherwise, at least 1/2" of tile around the sink is gonzo. and that front lip will probably come with the sink as well.

Refinishing the sink with epoxy isnt a bad idea. Take out the strainers first, and buy new ones.. (if yer lookin to make the wifey happy that is)

At the very minimum, the quarter round and front rail will have to be torn out. Possibly more. I used to be a Tilesetter and that is the traditional and correct way to install a sink in tile. It does not come back out easily.

That was actually the first thing that I thought of when I read "cut out a cast iron sink". Dremel, angle grinder, sawsall... not matter what it's going to take forever and be really messy. With the amount of time and effort to cut it out, you could just deal with the tile.
