What they don't realize is that when government does something unjust to one person or group and gets away with it, there's nothing much keeping it from enlarging the circle of those affected by its unjust actions. What affects one affects us all, but those who blindly subscribe to the "divide and conquer" rhetoric of the left and the right will not understand this truth until it is too late to stop unjust programs which have gained too much momentum. Part of me fears that we're already past the "point of no return" in some of these cases.
