Re: Troubleshooting fast batt-drain.... OP here.. Thanks for the lively conversation... I see that my phone has a 'sleep' mode, and also I see where I can turn data off, as Jim-in-VA said. I'll test this. TXT and Phone should stay up, but anything that relies on TCP/IP or GPS will temporarily fail, while I'm in this mode.
Then, once I reach my destination, and I'm geographically stationary, I'll turn data back on. Also, when away from home, I'll turn WiFi off.
