Plus just cause a game is violent doesn't mean kids will play it. Heck I know of "violent" and racist games that are free, but they blow so I don't play em.

When I was a kid and whenever I would play Arkanoid, I sometimes would get an uncontrollable urge to grab a ball and start throwing it at bricks to make them disappear! Many houses were destroyed all around the world in the late 80s and early 90s because of that game.

I can understand how things can only be worse with all those guns and death in the newer games. :(

We should totally stop giving kids tools that let them become cold blooded killers and should instead put them out in the streets in large groups so they can become productive members of our society.

Gun ownership in America is a part of our culture. It was a right of passage for me to receive my first firearm as a youth and it was really no different than my first fishing pole or bicycle. It will be interesting to watch this process. As a firearm owner I freely admit we must do something. We simply can not pass the red face test anymore if we do not address more stringent ownership checks. Everything should and I expect will be on the table. Gaming, movies, TV shows, media, school security, parenting, education, private sales of firearms, assault weapons, high capacity magazines, and so on, should all be looked at.

That said, I fully expect we will see a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines. I also expect to see a requirement for background checks on private sales of most, if not all, firearms. I can see the background checks being a non-issue for folks with their Concealed Handgun License, as they have already been run through an extensive screening process in most states. The way it works now in my state is you simply present your CHL license at the time of purchase. The sales clerk takes your information from the card and you're done. If this turns out to be an accepted method, I can see more folks becoming licensed to carry. This would be an interesting side-effect.

Driving cultural change is not an easy task for anyone. Movies, gaming, parenting, firearm ownership, and education are all deeply ingrained parts of our culture in America. Restrictions on firearm ownership and perhaps school security are the low hanging fruit. They will be implemented quickly. The rest, I don't know, but I will be watching.

There are plenty of articles and witnesses, and on tv where they said the mother had stated those things. Even back to when he was 10 years old, the baby sitter could never turn his back on him for fear of the kid going nuts.

He was a pscyho, no doubt about it.

He had 3 weapons on him. ALL were registered to his mother. He got them from his mother. How? could be as simple as stealing mothers gun cabinet keys. The mother was shot while she was asleep.

All I'm saying, is that if you have a child that is disturbed, you don't introduce them to guns.

This wasn't caused by video games. It was caused by a wackadoo "prepper" mother, introducing her mentally disturbed child to assault rifle.

I'm all for guns, my family has rifles, semi-auto shotguns, we hunt deer, pheasant and duck. But if I had a disturbed child, I wouldn't let them shoot.
