About a year ago i had my rear brake calipers dragging.. i went in to get my snow tires on and they noticed the same side was dragging again.. They replaced it under warranty but i'm wondering if i should have had OEM equipment installed.. they say oh no there all pretty much alike..what do you people think?
Could be something other than the caliper; like worn guide pins.
I've replaced calipers and there were several choices. I've stayed away from the cheapest. The OEM had phenolic pistons and i had sticking issues. I went with metal piston ones for a few bucks more and have had no problems.
Garbage aftermarket calipers are rampant in the salt belt. Crap rubber, pitted pistons and incorrect assembly of the rebuilds are the main culprits in failures like what you mentioned. -- The talented hawk speaks French.
