WV needs to get some more attention...
It would be nice if Verizon would deploy more LTE coverage in WV and western MD, specifically around the Deep Creek, MD area... That area sees a lot of traffic in the summer and winter from folks living in the DC and Pittsburgh areas.
Every time I've spoken with someone from Verizon about this, I've been told that someone else owns the spectrum and won't play ball with Verizon. I'm assuming that the "someone else" is perhaps Dobson? Not sure why they wouldn't let Verizon piggyback on their towers; it would probably mean a decent income stream for them if they did.
Dobson no longer exists. AT&T bought them in 2006.
Thanks for the info. Gotta wonder then if it's AT&T that isn't willing to deal with Verizon then. I guess it could always be US Cellular, as they seem to have a presence in that area too. Either way, I really wish that something could be negotiated for Verizon subscribers to have LTE data speeds (or at least 4G... or even 3G would be an improvement).

Some of Dobson is VZW- Dobson's Cellular One went to VZW well before 2006.

I agree, it's most likely US Cellular. Verizon Wireless phones will roam on US Cellular's network in western Maryland and in West Virginia, but only on 1x, even though US Cellular has deployed 4G in much of the area.
