The 3.6 used in the new Camaro has 300 hp.... The GM 4.3 V6 is getting quite popular with the hot rod crowd...

I had a 4.3 in my Blazer...

Very strong engine, a TON of torque; but never met a gas station it didn't like...

A friend of mine had a early 90's GMC Safari with the 4.3 High Output version... That thing hauled ass for a van, he used to do sick burnouts with it lol....
