Side mirror glass question.

The glass of the side view mirror was broken , i want to replace it but i wanted to know what is the difference between the glass from the dealer and the glaziery store one ?

Thanks

Why not get one from a wrecker? A quarter of the price, if that.

Thanks , i called they sell the whole mirror .

If there isn't any difference between the glasses from the dealer one then il get the one from the glaziery which would cost 5$.

Thanks

You may find the present mirror has a bit of a tint to it. Take in a sample from the old one, and check the replacement.

If there isn't, go for it.

Thanks , i thought about the tint would it be because it would have less reflection that it's tainted ?

Thanks

Not at all, it would be the same, but wouldn't look OEM.

Replacement glass for rear view mirrors is available through Dorman Products at most Parts Stores.

Do you have heated mirrors?

Thanks , the difference then is that the original has the message object are closer than they appear.

I leave in Canada so i don't know if the shipping would make it worth.

They aren't heated.

The Dorman Product should be in Canadian Parts Stores (or be able to be ordered by a local Canadian Parts Store if not stocked).

Thanks , the glass that broke didn't have the message so i suppose it was replace for one that is not OEM , i saw they sell the whole mirror and then it has to painted so it is around 200$.

I would get the one from the glaziery if it's same.

Thanks

What Year, Make and Model vehicle?

Which side mirror? The drivers side (aka left side) or the passenger side (aka the right side)?

Is the only thing broken the actual mirror glass, or is there damage to the painted exterior housing or the mounting pad the glass is glued to?

These are exact opposite statements, which one is true? Not all OEM mirror have a message on the glass.

Then the glass is flat (not convex) and does not have a printed message.
