Given your extremely low latency it's clear you're not on DSL at all, but ETTS or GPON. Lucky guy!

Correct, they're basically the same device, the only difference is the V2000H has an additional BCM6306 AFE wired to the 2nd RJ11 jack.

Actually it can, the reason your upstream is lower is because I'm forcing INP=2 with 5ms of delay. This constrains the framing parameters and causes your upstream to drop to ~800kbit. I would never recommend running below INP=2, which is why I'm using that profile.

Update: My router is not bridged. It hasn't been modified in any way.
It is currently running the latest, official firmware (31.30L.57).

Because the telus speedtest server is on the telus network, theres no more latency introduced. Maybe 500usecs.

That is because 5ms max delay is the standard profile for Optik 50. We had to do that, because at those rates we're exhausting interleaving memory; 76/12 at 5ms is the max we can do while still using PhyR.

Sindows, those are pretty normal pings for an ADSL connection with high impulse protection. You should be able to get that changed if it bothers you, unless you get a dick in support.

Sindows is kind of showing worst case tests. Ping to Delta cable is pretty irrelevant. When I traceroute them it ends up around 40 ms anyhow, even though speedtest.net shows around 70.

Not that Telus' routing is perfect but its not really much worse than Shaw's. Some of you ADSL people need to get on the low latency profile if you're gaming though.

You list that you are in Chilliwack. That alone will explain most of your problems. If 6.0 is all that's available there you can be sure you're not on the latest and greatest hardware either.

Delta's speedtest server also has worse ping than the Vancouver ones. As for Bellingham, there's nothing wrong with a 43ms ping. 73ms isn't that bad either. I've played games with a 100ms ping and still slaughtered everyone on the server. It's not hard. It's called skill.

Listening posted : Come the new year I will be going back to Shaw, my only other option. Telus has pissed me off just too much with their high latency. The more capacity they try to give their customers the more unstable the connection is.
