 | frequent modem hangs for about the past year or so, my modem has been hanging randomly and getting progressively worse. ive replaced the modem (had a cisco, now have an arris), had a tech come out and do a line test that came up with no problems, he even replaced one of our cable boxes saying it had a bunch of uncorrectable errors but the problem persists.
replacing the modem has made the recovery a lot quicker than the cisco modem, but its still causes any active connection to hang for 2-5 seconds. this is a video of what happens to the modem: »www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZF1JamhIL6o
the modem signals are all good, ive sat there and refreshed the status page for a while, even caught it as it happened and noticed no signal spikes. but what i did notice is it was switching upstream channels. and only recently something useful came from the modem error log.

after ~50mins on hold a CSR wanted to send out a tech again, but ill probably have to wait til the new year to have one come out. im posting this here in hopes wow_dan or someone will have some info. |

The lights seem to be displaying a very brief loss of connectivity for the modem, I've never seen one recover that quickly from a loss of synch, so I'm not entirely sure what is causing that to happen. |
