brvheart posted : I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580, and I hate the parental controls. I'm terrible at anything related to networking. I don't understand IP Addresses and the Surfboard is completely un-user friendly.

Because I want to use OpenDNS for parental controls, and OpenDNS doesn't support Motorola routers, I want to hook my old Linksys BEFW11S4 router to the surfboard.

However, I can't figure out how to access the Linksys setup page when connected to the Motorola. The Linksys shows up as broadcasting an unsecured internet connection when plugged in, but I can't configure it at all, nor can I even turn on security, since I can't figure out how to locate the software at 192.168.1.1

I'm assuming that this has something to do with IP addresses and DHCP (whatever that is), but I have no idea, because, as previously stated, I know nothing about networking.

Thanks in advance.
