[WIN8] How do I make desktop icon's closer togetherI used to be able to do this in Win95, Win98, WinMe, Win2000, WinXP, WinVista, and Win7 in the desktop settings. In Windows 8 Pro how can I reduce the space of all my desktop icons making them closer together than the default setting it is on now. My desktop has no more room for any more icons. I can't find the icon spacing setting like I could in Win7 Home Pre. LG EW224 is at it's native resolution of 1920x1080p. |

A workaround in Win8 is to turn off Align to Grid, and then manually space (drag) the icons. A clean desktop shouldn't have more than 15 icons or so. Best to make use of folders on the desktop to group the icons within. |

You have a desktop full of icons at 1080? I suggest you make a toolbar, or two... maybe even actually use the metro start menu.
I haven't left any shortcuts on my desktop in years, and have been using toolbars since the days of 9x. |
