[Raiding] How much are the holidays going to effect your progres

Obviously there are a lot of people who actively raid this tier on these forums. However, I only know a handful of you guys' current progress. Since the holiday period is usually a very slow time for progression in guilds, I figure that now would be a good time to ask everyone where they are currently and how much they predict the holiday season will effect your guild's progress.

Right now, my guild is 6/6, 6/6, 4/4.

Our last 25 man raid this year will be tonight. We're more than likely going to do full clears of TES and HoF. Next week we will raid in 10 man groups for shits and giggles, and pick back up full swing in 25s on January 2 in Heroic MSV.

I totally expect our 10 man group next week to make some heroic progress in MSV...I'd guess we'll get probably 3 kills in there. But, I'm not really counting that towards progress since we're a 25 man guild.

So, where's your guild's progress? And do you expect that progress to halt over the holidays or are you planning on trying to turn out a kill or two more to boost your server rankings?

Re: [Raiding] How much are the holidays going to effect your pro

4/6 in MSV

That is all

My guild fights the attendance boss as it is, Holidays will just be a new mechanic added.

Been plauged by the attendance boss since Thanksgiving. On Tuesday we 23 manned up to Elegon. We're doing farm content on the first raid of the week and with late raid starts and attendance issues we haven't even had a chance to attempt Will.

Yeah, we are not having a 25man raid next week. Maybe get some people to run my druid through MSV/HoF in 10man LoL. (I'm already 465 ilvl so I wouldn't really be asking for a carry).

If we can get down amber lord, I'm sure we would breeze through the next 4 bosses easy.

We 23 man'd MSV last night w/ 2 'casuals' filling in. Still steamrolled the place.

We are pretty much taking next week off which is going to hurt us I thik, but it cant be helped. Right now we are 3/6 Heroic MV, 6/6 Hof, and 4/4 Terrace. We are currently stuck on H spirit kings. That fight is crazy. I know we could have already killed Elegon and probably the last boss too on heroic, but we want to go in order for some reason. But yea Spirit kings on heroic is a pita. Each one of the bosses has a mechanic that if any one messes it up at all its a wipe. Soooooo gay. Lol

We're planning to lose next week in general but will try to still have a Sunday raid on what is it, the 30th?

We're 6/6 2/6 0/4

Our personnel luck has been astoundingly bad since MoP launch. Every week we've lost 1-3 people due to hardware failure, internet outages, people randomly quitting WoW with no notice. We finally are happy with our group now and cleared MSV and 2/6 HoF in about 2.5 hours on Tuesday. Really hoping to move up to about 4/6 HoF tonight.

We are 4/6 MV 1/6 HoF.

Fighting the attendance boss and the we lost our 2nd tank boss as well.

Plan on raiding this week and next as we raid Thurs / Sun / Mon right now so holidays are not an issue.

Want to kill at least 1 or 2 more in HoF and do some Elegon attempts if we can find another tank.

Guys wanted to raid so bad last night, but we ended up cancelling because we had 3-4 healers post out on our guild forums...we just couldn't make things happen.

For the most part we don't have too many mechanics failures, so I think we will end up pretty much like you guys have...blaze through the first few fights in MSV, then hit a little bit of a wall before overcoming it fairly shortly.

I really think we'll have success in there if we can ever get our lazy asses in gear and start pulling.

Real life has hit almost all of us pretty hard lately. I didn't log in at all on Tuesday, and only for about 2 hours tops (9pm-11pm) yesterday. We're away this weekend so won't see us till Sunday afternoon. 4/6 the first time we went in, 4/6 the 2nd time. We never got a 3rd time as holidays hit. 3 of us went with a pug group last week for 4/6 but that's about it. Not bad for only 2 official raids of a bunch of people who don't really push anything.

I just recently branched off from a predominantly casual guild, into a guild of my own creation. Our first raids are slated for January 15th, as I'm working to fill some core spots on the roster.

We've got a number of folks that are geared well into the 470's, some into the 480's. (Hardcore Casual on Lightbringer, don't hate the name it was a bank alt guild) My planned path is to work regular modes until we've cleared all the regulars then start on hard modes, though I've considered finishing MV, then spending 1 night on HoF and 1 night working MV hard modes. What are your thoughts on that? Should I just stick to clearing regular modes as the focus first?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I highly suggest clearing at least MSV and HoF before you start MSV hardmodes...especially if you've only got a couple people into the 480s.

As a reference; I'm geared just about at the average for my group, and I'm 488...we're just starting heroics on Jan 2. Personally I've got 3 full clears of MSV, 6 kills of Bladelord and Imperial Vizier, 4 Garalon kils, 3 Windlord kills, 2 Amber-Shaper kills, 1 Grand Empress kill, and 1 full clear of TES.

Since we have a rather loose structure, people can come and go as they please. We have enough officer coverage to handle new invites or if Savious goes off the deep end. Otherwise, everyone understands that the holidays are just the time for people to take care of whatever and then everyone is Jonesing to play after the new year.

Speaking of which, tonight should we face rape Elegon, or should we walk into HoF and try the first boss in there?

Thank you! That's terrific perspective. If I remember correctly, we've got MT that's 483, OT that's 490 (may end up MTing depending on situations, etc.), 2 healers that are 485, 2 DPS that are 481. I'm currently working on filling the remaining slots, which originally I was going to recruit 480+ players only. After your feedback, I may lower that to 470+ and just spend a few weeks clearing the regular stuff for gearing up purposes before hard modes.

As always, this forum is great for feedback.
