Glen Allen, VA | About to sign my mother up with DSLX, some questions She had Verizon DSL at her old address and Verizon will not transfer the DSL service to her new address (pretty much across the street from her old address).
I remembered DSLX and the website says the service is available at her address. Now, she has her old Westell 6100G from Verizon (Westell G90-610015-20 Rev. F). Is that modem compatible with DSLX service? I'm pretty confident I can configure it, if it's compatible.

kudos:16 | After looking into it, it looks like that model SHOULD be compatible. Haven't actually tried with that specific model before so can't guarantee 100%, but from what I've been able to research on it, it looks like it's compatible. May need to disable Walled Garden, however: »Verizon Online DSL FAQ »How to Turn off the Walled Garden Note that the FAQ refers to 6100 and 6100F, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 6100G also has it enabled by default. |
