WUDFPf service was not found (Windows 8)

Windows 8 64 bit.

Every time I plug in my USB external hard drive or iPod, this warning appears in my event viewer.

The UMDF reflector was unable to complete startup because the WUDFPf service was not found. This service may be started later during boot, at which point Windows will attempt to start the device again.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN_APPLE&PROD_IPOD&REV_1.62#000A27001AA35878&0#.

Now the iPod is being detected by Windows and iTunes fine. so what's the problem? Really annoyed seeing this popping up.
