[CenturyTel] Need CenturyLink modem recommendation - special cas

I have another thread going regarding some connectivity issues I'm having with CenturyLink DSL and an ActionTec M1000 modem. It's been suggested that I try another modem, because the M1000 is apparently not terribly robust with slightly noisy lines (which may be my problem.)

I've got the list of CenturyLink approved modems, but I don't know one from the other! Can someone suggest an ADSL/ADSL-2 modem that it particularly good at dealing with less-than-perfect lines? I don't need wireless; just a regular modem is perfect.

Thanks!

You can get the Actiontec C1000A modem in the CenturyLink packaging at Best Buy for $99. It supports both VDSL and ADSL circuits. The Wireless can be disabled, and it works great in bridge mode.
