1 edit | [connectivity] Keep getting disconnected from internet Hi I have been getting disconnected from internet since 3 days ago. It has gotten worst today, my internet is getting disconnected about every 3-8 mins.
I have tried rebooting, reseting both my router and modem but it's not helping at all,it . Oh and my Transceiver stats keep changing. is that normal ?

| Your stats look OK. When you get disconnected do you know if it is because your modem loses DSL sync or is unable to maintain the PPPoE session?
Check the logs to see if you can the cause. It may be the for whatever reason Verizon is unable to authenticate and maintain your user session.

| My dsl is not using pppoe, I dont use username and password. Is it normal for the transceiver dtatistics to keep changing ? This is what I have now

Yes within reason. ADSL2 is adaptive so sync speed is automatically adjusted up and down in response to varying line conditions.
How are your determining your connection keeps disconnecting every few minutes?
Try running a constant Ping to stable sites like this one.
Assuming you are using Windows from the command prompt type:
ping dslreports.com -t
Type cntrl C to terminate
That will tell you of the connection is really dropping out or something else is occurring. As you are able to ping the site you have an Internet connection

Hi things have been pretty stable until today thursday at 11 pm.
My Transceiver Statistics is going up and down along with connection timed out every few minutes. It is pretty bad and my connection is very unstable as Im typing this.

 I am in the same boat..VZ's DSL is horrible. I keep losing the internet since October 26,2012. I call and 2 report the trouble again and again. I've spoken with numerous techs on line.Techs have been out to correct the problem but to no avail.I've called the Board of Public Utilities and have called in 3 Presidential complaints. One tech sent me a new modem.No good. Another tech told me the port has to be changed but that is only done in the evening. The internet worked for a few days (Merry Christmas) but is now down again. I had to re-boot to send this message. I just called Ivan's old number and left word for Lowell McAdam.As a previous employee I am embarrased. So should Lowel!! |

Ok Now my connection is really unstable, my transceiver statistics are constantly going up and down. In 24 hour time I would say I have like 10 hours of good connection. The latency issue while I'm gaming is back even tough it's not as bad as before.
I did a quality line test and some of the results look really bad.
