Probably for bonded VDSL (two lines/pairs to the modem). This gives greater capacity than a single line. They'd also have to give you a V2000H gateway.
I didn't think they had started rolling out bonded VDSL yet though?

While you probably only have one pair currently active and wired up, chances are that the cabling into your apartment contains a minimum of two pairs, if not more. A tech would have to hook up the second pair.

But who knows where the lines go, how long they are, what type of cable, etc. Just because the cabinet is very close doesn't necessarily mean the cables are as short. |
