But being an Ultimate user I really hope you are right. 180Mb would be bitchen. |

 | i do understand that but who knows maybe they will raise the Rhode Island speeds as well |

Currently I have the Motorola but (hoping for positive change in the next year or so breaking 100mbit/s for even premier) it may be good to keep an eye out for anything that might be wiser to upgrade to. The Motorola though has to be the most stable modem I have ever used throughout the years. |

The Motorola though has to be the most stable modem I have ever used throughout the years. 3212 is better than the 6120 as it can do 8 downstream carrier bonding vs only 4 from the 6120.
If you want a modem look at the Moto 6180 or Cisco 3010. |
|
 | What is a 4x4 (SB612x) capable of, speed wise, in comparison to an 8x4? Will a 4x4 modem support the ~150MB service?
Also, in an area where only 1 downstream channel is available, will this even be available? We have 8x1 available where I live but I swapped my 3010 for a 6121 recently for stability purposes. |
|
 | reply to bryant313 I'm on Ultimate here in SoCal and am currently bonding 4x1. It seems like my line is having enough problems maxing out the 50/5. Not sure what a speed upgrade will do, but I suppose it couldn't hurt |
|
 | reply to bryant313 Speed upgrade without a cap increase seems silly and does me absolutely no good. Just means you'll hit that cap quicker.
I really wish there was some competition here for cox (only other choice is ATT) |

jh20001TheSaint join:2012-11-18 Las Vegas, NV 4 edits | Ya the price vs comparison breakdown has never been balanced. It reminds me of the Sharp LED tvs. 70" LED = $2299-2999, 80" LED = $3999-4599, 90" LED....MSRP has been going for $9999-10,999 at most stores that sell it (Fry's, RC Willeys, etc). That is a BIG price jump just for just 10"
Where Sharp is feature vs price, Cox is price vs feature, and then ends with a giant price jump out of nowhere to get a reasonable connection for today's tech.
Update: Finally found the 90". After reading about it, it looks like right after CES a few weeks ago and the announcement of all the 4K TV's coming out the price has gone on sale for $8000-8999 although all the sites still say original price of $9,999-10,999 so I don't know if that's temp or not. Still a good comparison of price structure though ^_^ |
