Re: HNG4 Tech Support says my connection is good... Really?!?

said by grohgreg:

The system state codes are only zeroized after each modem restart. As I said, there's no timestamp - so you don't have a clue which ones may have been recorded BEFORE the red X. Restart the modem. If the same red X occurs in the same category within the next two hours, you might have a case to apply some state code info. Otherwise, don't put so much stock in state codes

As far as the DNS acceleration, I can't help until I know if it's the (N) or the (I) category, and then I have to know which statistic actually triggered it. Click on the red X, and look for the word BAD. That's the stat that will have triggered that particular X.

grohgreg, i'm constantly getting red X's no matter if its rainy weather here or at NOC base or if its really good weather.. No matter what time of day, week, or month they still appear every single time in just the downlink, I have tried multiple dozens of times reseting the modem, resetting everything else, turning off web accelerator, nothing.

And when i go to click on a X in one of the hour time frames it either shows "BAD" or "MARGINAL" plus all of the red X's show something different, what the heck does that mean??

Mine is this way because of low signal level from my default assigned beam.. I see a higher level from an adjacent beam but so far can't seem to get Hughes to do anything about it. So start by checking your SQF

I don't have this particular issue with a SQF of ~90. Diablo, what does it show the state codes that set the Red X? When you click the red X you should get something like this that shows why it marked the downlink as bad.
