 | Thanks for nothing UPS First UPS decides they're going to start stealing packages from FedEx. Now, utilizing 2nd day air, a UPS package was supposed to arrive today. It arrived in a city 3 hours from here 2 days ago. Today around noon they finally decide to ship it from there to the big city nearest mine. Of course that means it won't go out for delivery until Dec. 26. |

To make matters worse it arrived in my city and sat there for a day, on a semi. I called the local office, and they confirmed it was there but no way I could get it until the 27th.
I avoid UPS at all costs. They've lost and damaged too much of my stuff. I use FedEx whenever its offered, even its a premium. I need my stuff to actually arrive, arrive on time, and in one piece. -- Ron Paul 2012 »www.ronpaul2012.com Beyond AM. Beyond FM. (((XM)))

| reply to BillRoland I have had the opposite experience... FedEx is always a problem, UPS and USPS are usually fine. My last experience was a delivery guy who took it upon himself to go back and pick up a delivery after he had already made it; he changed his mind about leaving it outside. Problem with that is the tracking number already showed it was delivered (try and explain that to Amazon). So now, instead of my package, I have a door tag saying a signature was required (which the seller didn't request) and they would attempt delivery the next day. While speaking with FedEx, I told them I would be home after 5pm if they require a signature. The next day, I actually left work early... got home by 3:30 and waited... Nada. Call them back that night and they claim driver was there just after 5 pm and I wasn't home! Total BS. They now say he will try one last time on Monday. Since I need my package, I took off on Monday convinced that the delivery guy is making no attempt at all to show up after 5. Sure enough, 11:30 am, the doorbell rings and I have my package 4 days later than it should have been there. Thanks a LOT FedEx!
Since this was not my only negative experience with them, I avoid FedEx when ever possible. I never send anything with them unless I am returning something that the seller already provided a prepaid return. When multiple shipping options are available, I will pick USPS priority mail first (fastest and usually cheapest) or UPS. Newegg (where I have ordered hundreds of things from) uses UPS 3-day by default and I can say that I have never had a problem with a single delivery from them. |

I've found traditional FedEx still to be pretty good. FedEx Ground, tho... not so much. About on-par with, or sometimes a bit worse than, UPS.
Merry Christmas, all!

1 edit | Well it could be worse now days or maybe they quit treating there deliveries like that? whatever the case, i'm sure they have a large amount of lawsuits against them, cause it costs nearly a fortune for most things, and with that money is irreplaceable.
I got a monitor last year (and no that monitor in that video was not mine hehe) from tigerdirect, i believe they toke it through fed ex then it went through our mail service, finally arrived and theres no damage.. i was damn well surprised for sure.

1 edit | reply to jseymour Yes, it was FedEx ground. I don't know why sellers even consider this option, horrible service and more expensive. Unfortunately, retailers on Amazon don't really give you a choice so I was forced to use them if I wanted this particular item. In the future, I am going to ask ahead of time and specifically request UPS or USPS. |

 | reply to rradina said by rradina:I don't get it. What does it mean to spell America with a k? America was a wonderful place, founded by some very intelligent men in 1776. It was a place where you could make a good life for yourself, learn and grow and share in the prosperity, if you were willing to work, and Americans were the hardest, smartest workers in the world. It was a place where government served the people instead of itself. It was a place with moral values, where money and "things" weren't the be all, end all. Sadly it ceased to exist somewhere in the mid to late 1980's. This place, today, is NOT America, thus the k. -- Isn't it sad that those that raise their right hand and swear "to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America" are usually the ones most likely to trash it. |

rradina join:2000-08-08 Chesterfield, MO | I agree with much of what you say but I'm not sure it's all the government's fault. Man's inherent selfish ways are at the root of all failures -- whether that be in the church, the government or in the corporate board room. To that end, both religion and corporate selfishness attempt to sculpt government to give them at least a temporary advantage. However, I'll still repeat what Churchill said, "It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried." Although I too am angry about all the crazy things that go on in this country, so far America is still the best place to be on this planet. |
