I remember when I was getting my DSL installed. I spoke to one of the outside techs, he said to get the best signal the customer should be within 3 miles of the CO. That doesn't meant you cant get signal but you obviously have have a decent signal coming into your modem. If you want to know if bonded is available in your area the best bet for you would be to call Customer Service. They can check your address and let you know what options are available there. I believe the number is 1-800-921-8101 just follow the prompts and it should get you to customer service. Hope this helps. Have a happy new year !!!!!

Basically bonded DSL is just DSL coming in another phone line.

This means that the second phone line will have similar performance to the first line all things being equal.

The binding happens at the local office and both ends need to support bonding. If the the local office does not support bonding then you can still do dual wan instead.

I have installed bonded pair, on clean pairs approx 5500ft, at almost 17k thats a big diff, but you might get BP IPDSL at that distance

Dual wan or multi-wan is just two or more regular DSL connections coming into the home BUT they are not bonded together to appear as a single connection. Instead of having ONE modem servicing both or all the incoming connections you have multiple modems one for each connection. In order to use all of the incoming connections at the same time you would need a load balancing multi-wan router such as this one: »www.amazon.com/TP-link-TL-R470T-···_cp_pc_0

The biggest detriment is that it is difficult to assign all the available bandwidth to a single program on a single machine. Only programs that use multiple streams (upload, download, or both) can take advantage of all the available bandwidth. On the other hand if you have multiple machines no one machine can hog all the available bandwidth. If you are using a download manager or downloading torrents, because they use multiple streams, they can usually still use all or close to all the bandwidth. The router will still make sure that other machine will still get some bandwidth made available to them.

You would get at least double the speed since its essentially two lines bonded together. On these bonded lines they have been increasing the speeds on each line as well. you may not see more than you see now on each line due to your distance from the CO.

If they are willing to bond 1.5Mb connections then that would be the case. From what I have seen though Frontier will only bond for plans higher than 6Mb at this time.
