It can be bridged, but you can't do it yourself. And, that may not be the answer to your problems.
I expect you'll get a reply soon from Gary, but you may want to create a direct thread so he can check it out.
I am thinking about bridging my DDW3611 and using my own router because I am kinda perturbed about not being able to run OpenDNS. There is no provision in the Ubee to change the DNS entries for the gateway. |

Parkranger lets find out why things are the way they are before we bridge...whatever it is it can be fixed. If you haven't already opened a direct forums thread do so...simply copy the above and include your IP address so I can see your equipment. |

I can do it but want to make sure you have a decent router before we do it. |

I was referencing the fact that you cannot specify your own DNS server entries in the UBEE configuration and are forced to use the defaults. |

You know what you are right...I totally misread your post...my apologies. There is no consistent way around that unless you bridge and use your own router or specify them in your network settings on each box. |

My preference and I feel yours may be the same is to maybe use different DNS servers as redundancy. That is one perk I like about having my NetGear router bridged. Now BrightHouse has some pretty good routers but I have to agree as well that sometimes having the choice of selecting your own DNS server to use sometimes is a good thing to warrant bridging. Plus I just got done doing a bridge about a month ago because my new router has a few more antennas which is great for echoing the signal through my house. |
