Re: [Theory] What is your thing in WoW?

Hi, my name is Ant, and my biggest thing in wow is... everything. OCD kicks in full gear when I log. Any toon I do make to max level, I usually have max professions and other 'maxes' on that toon. My main tries to have EVERYTHING. From Achievements, to professions (including every recipe able to be gotten... cooking/LW/Alchy/etc), to rep (sad to say I only have 60 some exalted reps), to whatever else can be done in the game. I don't have the dedicated time to raid on a normal schedule, so I spend time when I have it doing little bit here and alittle bit there.

It sucks me in

I'd say I'm an altoholic, but I don't spend much time on them. I have toons on servers all over. Each one is a different class/race/gender so I could get a feel for the game from each point of view, but I always end up on my mains on echo.

I admit I even made a toon on Moon Guard because of that thread. Quite an odd place, but packed with people. I really think some of the people in my guild on echo would love that place.

I enjoy most aspects of the game, from exploring, to dungeons, to PVP arenas. I've not done raiding yet, if I can get slaghappy up there, that may change I hope. Some dungeons suck major ass, and I hate when I get them on random, but for the most part, it's good.

I started getting into the pet battles recently. So add that to the list.

Hola! I was definitely an altoholic, changing it up every few days for a different experience. I played mostly to look bad-ass so anything I had to do to get the gear, I did and to its fullest(dailies, dungeons, PVP, etc). I was never able to really get into raiding as I couldn't set a specific time-slot aside but was able to do a few here and there. 40-man MC back in vanilla was an awesome sight to behold.

I really have no idea why I play. I guess I'm invested now for some reason.

I don't have any RL ties to my guild. I have neither the time nor the desire to be a raider. I pay almost zero attention to the lore.

I guess it's because it's open-ended (pretty much) and I'm so used to it. That and there really isn't much else out there for a Mac. (I'm too lazy/cheap/anti M$ to put Windoze on my machine or my wife's)

PvP healing is my thing. I play Disc horde and Rsham on alliance. It is casual PvP which consists of RBGs, regular BGs and some occasional arena.

Do it. I used to have a mage on KJ... man, doing dailies meant to have a bullseye on my head... impossible to do them without getting killed at least once. I ended up moving to a PvE server: no more worries about some idiot waiting for an opportunistic kill or getting shot by the guards when clicking on the NPC triggers your auto attack because you clicked the enemy standing on top of it...

I got exalted with OCS, revered with GL and the klaxxi and I am on my way to get revered with AC and the shado-pan.

Looks like we will be guild transferring so that takes care of the PvP issue. Just a matter of settling on which server to move to.

Perhaps that was Blizzards intention all along. Make money from mass guild/player transfers.

I believe their intention was to make PvP realms completely different from Normal ones, supposedly as they were in the beginning. We are looking at Medium pop PvE realms skewed heavily in favor of the Alliance. Currently scouting 3 realms with one highly favored among them. Need to be patient, but that is difficult to do once you scan a healthy AH, lol.

Updates on this move will be handled in-game and via RealID/BattleTag.

Just something to remember... even on Mal'Ganis which is like 98% horde... our horde lowbies tend to have trouble with being camped while leveling in lower levels due to the xrealms. While you may end up picking a high pop alliance server, doesn't mean you won't be in a group with a high pop pvp horde group that will make your life miserable.

My thing in WoW has always been the guild. For years the guild was just me, my wife, and close friends. We "opened our doors" in 2012 and have met some great people, and have been able to do some cool things. My drive to play and to lead this guild is based in a desire to help good friends see more of the game together. If the guild were to lose the family feeling, I'd quit playing altogether. My favorite thing in-game is to see the achievement toasts... but not just mine. I love seeing a whole bunch of guildies get an achiev for the first time while raiding/dungeoning together. For me... there is nothing more satisfying in WoW.

Don't bother with med pop, go high pop minimum.
I have ally toons on Grey mane and Khadgar and even med pop feels unpopulated.

Mostly something that the GF and I pursue when we're bored.

In the past, I played for:
- End game raiding. Top 125 US 25m guild. Loved the challenge. Loved the researching.
- Gold. I loved making it. Made most of my ~800K fortune in Wrath when gems were just ridiculously easy to obtain and they sold for 2-300 each.
- Alts were a passion for a small amount of time. It got the point where I got bored with it though.

Running up alts and just waste time by myself. I do things at my own pace away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the players. Makes me a horrible guild member hence why I don't belong to guilds.

Well since they are seem to be transferring to a PvE server, A:H ratios do not make any difference. Now, pop density matters in terms of resource abundance and AH prices: My hunter in Blackhand gets to buy enchants at crazy prices (like the scope for 2.5k) which is kinda balanced out by him selling LW enchants for 700 - 1k

So far, in MoP I've only one level 90 warrior. Was able to complete my first LFR raid this morning. Used to play a lot of alts, about 11 other level 85's, but things sure slowed down for me in MoP, in my opinion. I think the lack of interest in doing dailies has been a significant factor. The only one I've been doing is the cooking daily in SW...

I'm all over the place and am easily distracted. One minute I may be trying to max professions, the next minute I find myself in a zone where I only need to fly around three spots to get the exploration achieve, so I might as well do that. Wait... what's that.. the next zone I only need five areas? Well that's not so bad, I can probably go do that for a bit. What's that? Guildie being camped by a high level Hordie? Well that's not going to fly, time to login as my main and give this douche someone his own size to fight. Man, killing that guy wasn't as easy as I expected. The challenge was a lot of fun. Maybe I should do a couple of BGs while I'm on. Oh crap, just realized it is Monday and I'm not valor capped. I'd better queue for a dungeon/scenario/LFR.

ETC
ETC
ETC

I'm all over the board from profs, to alts, to achieves, to solo old raid content, to transmog, to low level BGs, to... well you get the picture.

Hi my name is Demencia / Thaylen / Zoots / Holyguide / Bloodvessel / ShadowCannon / Shaemen / Incinerater / Silentwrath / Khaar and about 20 others, and I approve this message.

I just made a change on my play style instead of going for the 3 missing max level toons I decided to go a completionist (Pandaland version) with my Monk, that means all panda reps at exalted and the pandaland loremaster (have it on the pally) and the lorewalker title.

Maybe since I want to play less, I'll forget about dungeons and getting some better gear and work on the lore achievements.

Just quest around for a while.

But although achieves are account-wide now, the quests don't stack from one toon to another, do they?

For example, if I have 800 Kalimdor quests under my belt, I can't do 100 on my Pally and 100 on my Rogue and get to 1,000, can I?

It would be great if I could, just to get some variety.

The progress is per toon, the achievement is global, I have loremaster of pandaria on my account because of my pally but I have received the achievement for each zone on my other toons.

My name is TheThing, I've been WoW-Sober for 13 months, I think, it's kind of fuzzy...

*involuntary shake*

When I did WoW my thing was flying in circles in Org waiting for arena Q or RBG Q. and the occasional /2 rage outburst for PvP flaws.

what I miss the most about the game is really the music and nostaligia of the first 2-3 months I played. And my guild. And a few months where I was OP and single handedly won many BG where we should of lost. like jesus
