Re: Dumbass moments?
I do crap like that all the time. Most memorable recently was replacing the flooring in a tiny (like 6' x 3') powder room. On my knees with my ass hanging out in the foyer, I hacked out of the plywood that was there, but figured I could keep the existing toilet flange and just cut the new plywood somehow and slide it around into place. Talk about a square peg in a round hole. Of course the more frustrated you get, the less you care about straight cuts and proper measurement.
After hours of screwing around with it and ruining about 30 square feet of new plywood, I finally sighed, cut off the flange, and drove to Home Depot (4th trip) for the replacement PVC pieces I should have bought in the first place. And one more sheet of plywood.
