Some companies require the return of equipment (if you have leased a modem or cable box) to stop billing and cancel service. This is the case in my Charter area. I called them earlier today from my cell phone regarding cancellation of my cable service and was told to bring the boxes to local office tomorrow. TWC has the same policy. Comcast will cancel service and give customers 10 days to return equipment.
