Is auto black box going to snitch on your driving?

Will any controls prevent others from spying on your driving habits. Will lawsuits and insurance companies have a spy in your car?

Some manufactures have "black boxes" already in some models. But they only record like the last 10 or so seconds before airbag deployment or seat belt pre-tensioners activating.

Every Car, Truck, SUV and or Van with an airbag has a recorder inside the ACM (Airbag Control Module). This data can be used against you.

ACM data is described in GM’s owner’s manual, “…Your vehicle may record information about the condition of the vehicle and how it was operated, such as engine speed, brake applications, throttle position, vehicle speed, safety belt usage, air bag performance, and the severity of the collision…..”
GM air bag black box / EDR / event data recorder / SDM / deployment crash data recovery for 1994 and newer General Motors, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, GMC, Hummer and Saturn vehicles

Most early GM air bag modules will have 5-15 pages of crash data. Many 2006 and newer GM air bag modules can have 30-40 pages of crash data. A recent download from a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro produced 72 pages of crash data.

Don't drive like you are on a track or a drag strip and you will be fine.

Otherwise, this:

No, they use different cars because they get rolled on and get locked up. Why buy a new car knowing you are going to get pulled over eventually with drugs on you. If you are slanging you aren't going to have a small amount on you, so that usually means a felony charge = car being towed.

older model cars also stand out less in many of the neighborhoods that dealers sell in. a flashy new Escalade is going to kinda scream drug dealer if its cruising around North Philly, Camden, similar cities/neighborhoods.

Plus pre 94 cars are easier to steal.
