[TiVo] Channels Not Authorized Issues - Watertown, MA ONLY

Good evening and hope everyone had a happy holidays. I have been noticing on at least one of my tivo boxes..I tend to watch one more than the other..that I will turn on my tv and its in process of recording something but a message at the bottom of the screen says channels not authorized and picture is frozen. If I switch tuners everything is fine and those channels are there...when I switch back to the tuner that gave me the message if I hit channel up and down enough times it kicks back in. Sometimes its just once at night sometimes it happens multiple times in a sitting. Sometimes it in fact records the show completely that it froze up on and gave that message. Have noticed this problem for the last several days..not sure it has anything to do with tivo update. The channels it says I am not authorized for are channels that are in basic package. I have tried rebooting tivo and have same issues. Have tried calling RCN but hold times have been 20-30 minutes lately. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this? Am outside of Boston.

I've been looking into this, do you have an idea of about when this happens? When did it start as well? Was it a issue that started in the last 2 weeks?

Does it happen on more channels then others? any specific channel it happens the most?

I am now noticing its on my hd set as well. On the box it's happening most often its an sd TV set so I don't have hd on that. Definitely has been within the last 2 weeks.

I have to also agree that this is becoming more of a problem when shows are not recorded properly and doesn't go all the way to the end. Frustration level getting higher. Not sure it has anything to do with this but on demand not working for past couple of days.

I believe this was resolved as of this morning, can you tell me if your in Boston and STILL having this issue?

Wow..thanks very much. I will check when I get home tonight. I know one of my boxes did reboot last night around 8:30 and things seemed better...will check when I get home.

Knock on wood....things seem to work smoothly and no problems so far with channel not authorized. Interface seems snappier as well. Will continue to keep an eye on it. Just want to say thanks for the quick turnaround. This kind of customer service (as well as services offered) are the reason I stay and rave about rcn.
