[Troubles] Canton, Ga outage two nights in a row

Two nights in a row with outages at about 10pm.

In addition, months of bad speeds, latency issues, random outages, having to bounce modem, etc.

Is there an equipment upgrade happening, or something we need to know about?

Yes, I would like to know the same. My son works from home from 7 pm to 1 am doing phone work for Best Buy Rewards and has to have the internet to do his job. He's had to call in two nights in a row to report that he can't work because our internet is down. I'm afraid he will lose his job for not having reliable internet service if this happens again.

Guess I'm not the only one pissed in Canton. When Comcast wanted $800 to run a line to my house 4 years ago I went with Windstream. Since then the phone almost always has static on it outside at the box when DSL is on (I've had are least 10 techs come out swapping stuff). Now the internet is constantly crappy, then outages two nights in a row? Yet you are trying to sell the merge BS? Yeah let me use just slow streaming so I can't even watch TV when the internet is working like crap.

When my directv contact is up in spring I will be paying Comcast. This is absurd 10$ credit isn't worth the BS even if I think Comcast is like dealing with Satan.

Oh I left out the other great part about unlimited phone, how random conference call numbers aren't allowed and are billed. Amazing how the have a list to bill me yet can't give me a list of what isn't allowed.....

This is crazy. Then we try and contact them you are something like 20 people back in line to speak with someone.
Great customer service.

Thank you. Let us know what you find out. Tried to call support and their answer was everything is working now so why are you complaining. Appreciate any insight you can provide.

Windstream states that they're having a major outage in Canton affecting many customers. No ETA at all on when this problem will be fixed! Moving on to Comcast!!!!

I'm so annoyed! I also have Windstream internet in Canton (river green subdivision) and have had outages for the past few nights. Worthless! Last night it was out until 6 am. Unacceptable... I am a professional photographer and just had it crap out right in the middle of a massive .raw file upload at 89%.

Not. Cool.

I hope you don't absolutely need that stable connection to keep working. I've had to give up my career now because of this.

Don't expect any resolution this year, or next.

Canton is about an hour from me and mines
been down for hours. They had me reboot the new modem which now has me stuck in limbo on the admin page.

Nothing is clickable because the page will only load 3 of 7 items....

Yet again, 3rd night in a row, the latency goes very high around 9:55, modem diagnostic shows all is well, then by 10p the PPPoE authentication is failing then shortly the PPPoE connection drops. It periodically connects but the latency is so bad that no webpage loads and email client will not check for messages.

While this has been the problem for 3 nights, the connection speed between 6p - 2a has been pathetic for the last few months. Forget watching a video on youtube or netflix.

I am only able to post this using my phone's hotspot.

We're right down the road in Hickory Flat. I feel your pain. My wife often works from home so reliable service is a must. I've already switched DNS servers to Level3 for more reliable DNS, but that hardly helps when WS goes 100% tits-up.

Fortunately, Comcast is an option in our 'hood - an option that I'll be investigating with renewed vigor in the new year.

It is not just Canton, in the last 3 days I have been disconnected over 20 times just while using the pc, no clue how many times it has happened when I was not on.



It is a little after 6pm EST, on my 3.0Mbps connection, notice how my upload is beating my download...again.

Yep, down over here too. Sending this tweet out: "My @Windstream DSL goes out for day 3 of 6."

Also, I've started the process to get Internet service from Comcast.

15 Mbps for $29.99 a month for first six months, $44.95 for months 7-12. No contract, they're currently offering a free modem, and rep said once you reach 1 year, you're eligible for special pricing.

Maybe in one year Windstream can get its act together.

Just came back up in area, in Canton (over on Knox Bridge/Hwy 20).

It really sucks to be handcuffed to Windstream because I have no other option where I live.

Its down here in Missouri as well its been almost an everyday thing.
Since yesterday we have barly had a connection and kept losing it.Its getting worse instead of better as I was typing this the connection dropped agian had to wait for it to come back to post.

I am sure its on this same site or could be different and I have the same problem.

I live in Dalton, GA. I work during the day and come home night time when the support network for windstream dsl is offline. This is my first month being windstream customer. I hate to say it but during the last couple of days on 2 device connected to the internet, my download and upload is less than 2mb when I bought a package for 14mb. I have tried unplugging the power for my router for 30 secs and it doesnt solve the problem. Dont worry, I have tried turning off my other devices and I am still getting the same speed. I left charter cable for windstream dsl, I am not sure what to expect next or who to buy my internet package from.

Canton, GA is down AGAIN! Tech support claimed it was a faulty card in one of the switches but blah....faulty again every day? Just be honest with us as you would want us to be honest with you if you were dealing with any of us in our line of work.

Nearly 9:30 PM on the dot and my internet is out, YET AGAIN. I live off Knox Bridge Hwy (Hwy 20) and this has been happening, every night, for the past week.

What are you guys doing to fix this? I don't currently have another option for an ISP and I don't appreciate paying for services that DO NOT WORK.

Yup down on the Canton and Alpharetta border again. Sure glad I didn't switch to Merge for TV service lol. Mine as well just use my verizon 4 G unlimited plan and cancel this crap. Thank god directv contract is up in a few months.

lol, tethering my phone for its 4G internet is more reliable than the 12MB DSL line I'm paying for from them. I live off in the woods though so, unfortunately for me, Windstream is the only internet service option for me. Believe me if there was another option I would have already been on it.

Including the @Windstream means it's seen by their social media team, and they hate thus kind of stuff.

Best thing you can do if you can is talk with your wallet and get a different ISP.

Out in Canton GA every night for a week. I think I will be calling other providers tomorrow.

Called tech support and she would say nothing except "we cannot ascertain why 'YOUR' modem drops right now because there is an outage in your area." and "we have only had 2 outages in your area in the last week" (BS! EVERY NIGHT!)

She became extremely rude when I reiterated that the modem works great from 2a - 10p and I do not need to reboot to get it to work though I have tried on some nights. She then tried to get me to say I would take a callback once the outage was resolved. I really do not want a 2a wakeup call.

Please send me a PM with the phone number your DSL is related to. Our techs are actively working on isolating whatever the problem is and repairing it. As far as the agent goes, she may have only been able to see 2 outages on your account for a couple of different reasons, however there is no reason for her to be rude.

Same here - North Canton area - seems to be a nightly occurrence. Saturday I had no connection until 9pm - out all day. Would like to know what is going on. Does it have to do with the rain? Seems like it is out when it's wet outside.
