It has more ports than the 250, it can run off 24v, there is a version with gigabit ports, and can be managed.

I've started using them at each of my towers, and haven't had any issues so far.
voxframe posted : Hello all.

I'm looking for a replacement switch to be used on sites.
Currently we're using the RB-250GS units, and they handle like shit for lack of a better description. They are constantly breaking or burning out, jamming, or just doing weird stuff.

It never fails they tend to do it when it's least convenient too.

We have hundreds in service, and while 99% of them are good, the remaining 1% end up kicking us in the face.

Here's where things get tough.
I need it to be powered by 24V PoE. We use the DLI 24V PoE controllers everywhere. I don't want to be doing any conversions if I don't have to. If it has a native 20-30v input of some kind, that I can just grab a takeoff from the DLI unit, that's fine. Wiring contortions don't bother me.

Gigabit switch is not an absolute must but I would prefer it.

Managed is the same deal, I'd LIKE for it to have management but not required.

5 port minimum, but the more the better. I'm cascading 2 usually now.

Thanks!
