I wouldn't hold Pioneer, Alpine or Sony responsible if I drove under a some broadcasters' tower and it leaked into my favorite station for a few seconds.
I think its nuts for Sirius to think that ALL 2.4G transmitters must amend to accomodate them and them only. The application of Wi-Fi for in car use is negligible at best. Europe is going to use HiperLAN (5Ghz) for road-to-car networking and there is good reason to believe that Wi-Fi5 will be used here as well. Regular Wi-Fi "cells" are just to small. Buzzing down the freeway at 70 per, I will not be using Wi-Fi to collect data!! Look where this got Metricom!
**sarcasm time This will put many people out of sorts, after all, this means I can't sit in the car in the garage with my Panasonic Gigarange home phone and talk while I have Sirius playing and syncing my Palm with a Wi-Fi adapter! What IS the world coming to? **sarcasm over
Much ado about nothing, Sirius will be dead in 2 years. Next thing they will be blaming microwave ovens just before they file BK. |

Me I'd like to see 802.11a as It could be mounted on the cell phone towers one would think. Is there an 802.11 type frequency that isn't line of sight? What about 802.11g?
