Chemtable Software has released the new version of Handy Start Menu 1.80 with additional support for Windows 8.
Now you can use the customary Start menu featuring the search function and the Turn off button under this OS too. Plus, the new Start menu incorporates all additional functions of Handy Start Menu including automatic grouping of applications, bulk check for updates of all installed programs, and Start menu scaling capabilities.
Working under Microsoft Windows OS, the Start menu tends to absorb information about all installed programs. Finding a particular element in this list can be tricky due to the large amount of absolutely unnecessary items included there. That is what Handy Start Menu was developed for.
The main goal of Handy Start Menu is to eliminate the enormous number of unnecessary elements in the Start menu and to make running programs from the start menu faster and easier. This is done by automatic sorting of installed applications by groups (Utilities, Office, Games, etc.), and also by letting a user to run a program with a simple click on the folder of the program.
Additionally, Handy Start Menu includes the integrated mechanism of automatic checking for new versions of all installed programs, so a user can know about recent updates of multiple applications from the same place. In addition to convenience, this also contributes to system security, because new versions of applications often fix security issues and other bugs that can negatively affect overall operation of the OS and other programs.
Handy Start Menu is distributed freely. The latest version of the program can be downloaded from the official website with this link: »www.handystartmenu.com/downloading.php
