Who are these people voting NO

... not only authorizing it, but refusing to allow even some BASIC OVERSIGHT by voting NO on very modest improvements.

Anyone who voted for re-authorization and against the amendments should be ejected from office!

Here is the votes for the bill:

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D - Calif.) chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee led those voting to extend FISA:

Feinstein argued on the floor of the Senate that electronic surveillance played a role in some of the 100 arrests in terrorism-related plots made in the last four years.

It doesn't list the NO voters on the amendments. Pair those two up and we have the people who re-authorized and opposed even modest oversight. They need to go.

She is the big wheel on the Senate Intelligence Committee and is privy to spy info most in Congress never get to see. One of the so-called Gang of 8( »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ga ··· of_Eight ) that the President and his intelligence advisers must keep informed. Her knowledge of threats to US not shared with other legislators(because they can't be trusted not to leak info) may be the reason she is strongly backing these intelligence laws.

Current Members of the Gang of Eight
John Boehner (R), Speaker of the United States House of Representatives
Nancy Pelosi (D), House Minority Leader
Harry Reid (D), Senate Majority Leader
Mitch McConnell (R), Senate Minority Leader
Mike Rogers (R), Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
Dianne Feinstein (D), Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
Dutch Ruppersberger (D), Ranking Minority Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
Saxby Chambliss (R), Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence

All 4 Senate members of the Gang of 8 voted to extend FISA.

She's backing them because she's a big-government statist who would prefer if everyone outside DC would just shut up and send in money.

Um, yeah, and because she and President Obama are NOT FUCKING IDIOTS. They know that, were there to be another major 9/11 type terror attack, and they had NOT done whatever they could to "connect the dots", it would be really, really bad.

This is not a left vs. right, repub vs. dem. issue. Everybody who knows anything is on the correct side of this law. Only those losers on the fringe who stand on some thin "principle" are against it.

Boys and girls, this is not rocket science. Your house has a bunch of bad guys out there who are trying to explode it, burn it to the ground, and kill you and your entire family. Oh, no, because some PRINCIPLE tells you you CAN'T TRY TO FIND THEM BEFORE it happens, you are just going to let everyone roast and then be blown to bits? Not likely you'd actually do this.

Lol...and quite right too, you know you should believe them, implicitly right, after all, they are only looking out for your best interests...........

I already bore that cross...Labour/Conservatives sold us Brits out to the EU eons ago...............although, we have had to deal with a lot of 'real' terrorism for decades, so, there's not much you can teach us on that front (IRA)........

LOL. I used to fly into Gatwick because the IRA routinely would use a mortar to blow potholes into Heathrow's runways causing massive delays. For some reason, they were "nice" terrorists at times and left Gatwick alone. I do remember though that they were often NOT "nice" terrorists and caused much death, carnage and mayhem for decades. Yes, I would term them "real" terrorists, not like the "manufactured" terrorists our government uses to scare the sheeple.

You should of tried being a motorcycle courier ( delivery's) in and around Manchester, and most ALL of the UK....some days, we'd be riding along and BOOM!!!! covered in glass, and no work to be done......other times, whole Motorway networks would be shut down for half the day.....still, on a Bike, filtering down the traffic THAT bit was kinda fun!!!!!

That went on right until they destroyed Manchester Arndale with the biggest mainland bomb ever.....I was TEN miles away, mowing me lawn( Sunday) and it shook the ground beneath me!!!!

At THAT time, I don't think I'd want to be carrying packages for other people. I DO remember being asked by a machine gun toting soldier to pick up and hold my carry on that I had set down beside me (resting against my leg) for a moment to look at something in one of the airport shops. Judging by the stern look on his face, I thought it best to immediately comply. I think it was the sandbag "bunkers" that appeared in front of the terminal entrance, with the 50 Cal. machine gun inside that was my first hint that these people were being serious. That was the Eve of the "First Gulf War". They had REAL security there. I was carrying computer tapes and security actually took the collar off of each one and wound them out to the start marker, to make sure they were really computer tapes. They KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING!!! I was impressed. They checked but didn't damage a single tape.

Ahhhh... The good old days... when we had someone OTHER than our OWN corrupt, worthless, self serving government to fear.

Yes......motorcycle...black leather jacket......no (real) ID badges......this was the early 80's-mid 90's...save for your licence......meant for an uneasy time with the Police and squaddies........

still......compared to when your mates ( who were also bike couriers) came over from N ireland and told you story's of running checkpoints/being shot at/delivering to 'dubious' farms in the border country) came over....you realised that delivering packages from Manchester>London was relatively tame!!!!!

Wish I could trade MY flags in for a "valuable gift" LOL. I could probably get a whole small nation somewhere.

The Belfast thing is probably some disgruntled old timer who decided to settle a grudge "the old fashioned way". There's only about a billion people walking around Belfast with bomb making skills.

Is my sarcasm meter broke or are you serious?

Cool, I heard barcodes, checkpoints and neighbors spying on eachother at every street would save lives too.

If someone is really determined there is nothing this group of 8 stooges can do about it.

All these "make you feel comfortable while taking your freedoms laws" are an illusion of safety.

What prevents from 100 terorrist buying tickets to the same plane and doing it again? NOTHING.

I rather enjoy life and variety of freedom than be spied on, be worried of what I say and getting groped and searched everywhere I go for my "safety".

The ONLY "Security" these people are concerned with is their own. With the economy now racing the Tidy Bowl man to the bottom (and winning!) even sheeple are beginning to see what a corrupt, self serving joke our government has become, from City or Town Hall, all the way to Washington.

In the very early 1980's I used to tell people that we, in our lifetime, would see a revolution in this country. The handwriting was already starting to appear on the wall back then for those of us who looked. People would look at me as if I had three heads. Now they say "Maybe sooner than we think".

More spying, restriction of basic freedoms and of course "Gun Control" are coming down the pike. Our government does not WANT a "well regulated militia" of the people because they KNOW at whom the guns will be pointed. Them!

Maybe it would be best if our economy just collapsed outright and splintered the nation. Too many good people die in revolutions and I don't want to see it happen here. Something has to change. It's time for the People to rule the nation, as it was meant to be, as our forefathers intended, instead of the government ruling the people, as it is now.
