[Northeast] Traceroute

Click for full size
Just switched to Fios and I'm loving it! Just had a quick question or to see if anyone else experienced a similar issue... when I run a traceroute to any host, I can see in the first hop that my router is only listing it's "hostname" and not my "local domain". When I previously had Comcast and pfSense, the first hop would show my hostname.mylocaldomain - Any thoughts? I have specified a local domain in the router settings (see attached)

I don't think you want extra stuff added to your lookups. The routers domain has nothing to do with your WAN I believe.

One way I fix that; so that tracert's don't take long; is to add the routers IP and and name to the windows hosts file.

Usually at: %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Open/Edit with Notepad.
