Re: HELP, Wireless! Dinged $383.5 in SMS Charges. What to do?

I found it easier being on the phone and checking out this site, by then I got through.

As I said, too, they're the only ones that are willing to help out if a mistake might have been made with either party.

Update: After talking again to Customer Relations and to another Manager, we did not reach any agreement.

Next, I submitted an online complaint to the Rogers Office of the President. On the website there was a notification stating something like: "Thank you for submitting your comments." I did not receive any confirmation e-mail from Rogers acknowledging receipt.

Let's see what happens after this...

All because you called in to whine about paying the $6.95 that everyone else pays for the 'system access fee'.

Hope it was worth it.

I don't pay that, I pay like 2 bucks and I want that to go away too.

No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......

Yep. Couldn't be happier. Anyone doing business directly with Robellus get's no sympathy from me.

You are right, that would not be a bad idea, but they do not offer the iPhone, unfortunately. I am a Mac user (computer, iPad, iPhone, Time Capsule, Apple TV), so I'd prefer to stick with the iPhone.

Again, I had good relations with Rogers over the years and I am surprised about their approach now, trying to make a fast buck on me. Are they that desperate to make money through any possible means?...

Pick your poison.
Fido ($56 plan - only around until tomorrow I think) might be a better home for you than Rogers proper, or perhaps Telus.

Nothing Rogers does surprises me whatsoever.

You have a contract with them until 14 December, 2015. This will be anything but "fast". Long slow and painful is far more likely - and there's not a damn thing you can do about it but pay.

There's a reason we call them Robbers around here.

OP should not pay these charges at all. If this played out exactly the way the OP described, it will be easily reversed by the OOP or CCTS.

This was the statement on the Rogers website when I submitted my complaint to the Office of the President: "Office of the President will review your inquiry and respond within 72 hours. If we are unable to meet this deadline, we will contact you to advise when you can expect a response."

It's been now 72 hours since I submitted the complaint, excluding the statutory holiday of 1 January, and I did not hear anything back from Rogers. Is this non-response typical? Has anyone got a phone number for the Office of the President? Thanks.

There is no phone number for the office of the president. Each Office of the president representative has their own direct line and extension. If you call them, before they have initiated contact with you, they will not help you.

You also submitted your complaint on New Years Eve, likely nobody was present at the office on that date, and there was definitely nobody there on New Years Day. You'll probably get an email from them tomorrow or saturday from an actual rep telling you that they've received your complaint and their timeline for getting back to you.

Thanks, it makes perfect sense what you're saying. I will wait until Monday. I noticed that they also have a Mo-Fr live chat option on their website.

No the iPhone 5s/6 whatever they call it
won't support AWS, Tmobile has been moving their network around in order to support the iPhone global model.

That and none of the cheaper providers have LTE, nor do they have the spectrum to handle it.

I told you that you'd need to get to the office of president via phone, not web. You'll get transferred, eventually. You get through, they take your info, they get back to you within 12-24 hours.

Hi there,

it looks like you may have a billing dispute regarding extra SMS charges on your account.

It seems as though you have been attempting to resolve the situation with your service provider. If you are unable to come to a reasonable resolution, you may wish to file a complaint with the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications services (CCTS). We're an independent organization that works with you and your participating Canadian telecommunications service provider to resolve complaints.

Visit »ccts-cprst.ca for more information, and to file a complaint.
