[Slow speeds] Horrible down speeds starting at 5pm in 30549
The last 2 weeks have been horrible in Jefferson, Ga.

I pay for 6Mbps/768kbps. Starting at 5pm, we get horrible speeds 700kbs down, upload is typical in the 500/700kbps.

Pings go from 14ms normal, to 400~600ms. I reset modem and get new IP for a 30~120ms ping and no change in down speeds.

The 50.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet is horrible for me. If I am lucky to get in the 7x.xxx.xxx.xxx the down is better, but only at 1.0~2.0Mbps.

What am I to do? I have called tech support a couple times, only to be told there is an overcapacity issue.

You can wait, for an unknown, and possibly long (read: years) time with zero information. Or you can switch providers.

30549 was promised a 12-31-12 repair date, which of course is today...... Not sure why WS thinks lying is the way to go on these estimated repair dates? I have been given various repair dates over the years.

Still happening. Nothing fixed. Placed post in windstream direct, have not heard anything there either.

12mb/768 service. rarely a problem in down town at work.



Did have peak hour slow down at home about 4 years ago. Got on here, told techs about it, I used ping plotter to find the offending bottleneck, forwarded to techs, was fixed in a couple weeks. Not a slow down since.

I really wouldn't even be here if I was getting HALF of what I paid for, only because I wouldn't be hearing crap from the family.

The fact that I am getting 1/10th of what I am paying for, and the speed is unacceptable to the family use, is what my issue is.
