Any idea what is going on here?

This has been occurring for the last three months

I am experiencing extremely slow internet speeds roughly every two hours. Sometimes things work great. Other times I can't connect at all or just at a trickle. Happens at any time of the day/night.

I have had a tech come out and look at the signal level, replace connections/splitters and while the modem reports better power levels, the problem is still there.

Here's an example of what I see from a Time Warner Speed test:

I am experiencing this from several different computers, connected directly to the cable modem (no wireless router)

Traceroutes show large ping time 3000ms+ and dropped packets: *

Your upstream power level seems a tad high. I think you have enough room to cut the signal a bit with a splitter to see if it helps things.

Thanks, but they actually removed a splitter and it was working poorly before also. After reading another thread, I suspect there may be some stray voltage/noise from the SDV box. I have removed it to test.
