[Billing] possible to put FIOS connection "on vacation"?

I signed up for a 3rd-party DSL service, because I planned to cancel my FIOS. However, I'm having second thoughts.

Is it possible to put your connection "on vacation", such that you are still considered a subscriber, and you get a bill every month, but only a minimal bill, and only get minimal/no services?

Yeah you can park your service and they disable it until you tell them to turn it on and they'll discount you that time.

Verizon does indeed have a vacation option so you are not billed until you reactivate. The options may vary by state. I was told could suspend and reactivate the account for no fees in Florida. The CSR also told me I have to pay for a minimum 3 months every year. It turned out there is a $20 fee to go on vacation hold so the 3 months may be wrong as well. I did have my service suspended for 6 months and then had no problem activating it again.
