email bounced from blocked domain
Verizon needs to filter spam, no doubt about that. When a domain or a server gets blocked, however, their process to clear false positives is very flawed.
The bounced email is returned with instructions
quote:This link goes to a page where the sender or host requests a review. As sender, I received an email where VZ said they would contact the third party. Hosting service sent multiple requests as well with no response. Multiple requests over 7 days. Crickets.
SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
host relay.verizon.net [22.214.171.124]: 571 Email from 126.96.36.199
is currently blocked by Verizon Online's anti-spam system. The email
sender or Email Service Provider may visit
»www.verizon.net/whitelist and request removal of the block.
Resolved by trying Plan B: direct email to email@example.com. Response came back from firstname.lastname@example.org
Pay no attention to that link in the bounced email. That department is asleep at the switch.
