birdfeedrPremium,MVM join:2001-08-11 Warwick, RI kudos:8 | email bounced from blocked domain Verizon needs to filter spam, no doubt about that. When a domain or a server gets blocked, however, their process to clear false positives is very flawed.
The bounced email is returned with instructions quote: SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host relay.verizon.net [206.46.232.11]: 571 Email from 66.7.194.224 is currently blocked by Verizon Online's anti-spam system. The email sender or Email Service Provider may visit »www.verizon.net/whitelist and request removal of the block.
This link goes to a page where the sender or host requests a review. As sender, I received an email where VZ said they would contact the third party. Hosting service sent multiple requests as well with no response. Multiple requests over 7 days. Crickets.
Resolved by trying Plan B: direct email to abuse@verizon.net. Response came back from whitelist@verizononline.net
Pay no attention to that link in the bounced email. That department is asleep at the switch. |
