| [iPhone] Question about unlocking So my cousin approached me with an iphone4 that he bought. It is ios 6.0.1 (10A523) with baseband 04.12.02. The carrier is Rogers.
I'm not sure where to start on this thing. According to the dev team post, it's not possible to unlock? »blog.iphone-dev.org/tagged/redsn0w
Also, going by the iclarified wizard, it is also not possible? »iclarified.com/unlock/index.php
Looks like it would require some kind of IME unlock service that he'll have to pay for correct?

Unless there's a breakthrough for your version of the baseband, you have four options:
1. Get Rogers to unlock it (not sure if they will)
2. eBay unlock service such as this:

3. Some sort of SIM add-on like gevey SIM:
»www.gevey.com/gevey-ultra-s-for-···hone-4s/
4. Sell it and buy an unlocked iPhone 4S.

Welp. Got some info from the seller and managed to downgrade from iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1 but 5.1 seems to have only a tethered jailbreak available. Trying to figure out how to upgrade to 5.1.1 now |

| Try calling 1-888-ROGERS1 and get technical support. Legally, if the phone is finished its contract, Rogers will get Apple to unlock it. He'll need to unlock it over iTunes.
