THey are switching some more analog channels over to digital in Feb, maybe they will add some then.

Unless Charter decides to get the NBA League Pass PPV package again you can forget about NBA TV.

We get MLB HD and NBC Sports in HD. As well as the locals. I'm kind of surprised they aren't providing all your locals in HD. Unless they aren't HD to begin with which would be odd.

That depends on what you call HD. 1080 means HD to me, however, some local channels are only 720 or even 480 and for those, I don't consider it HD. Those are the same they offer OTA (if you can get them) though.

By 1080 I assume you mean 1080p. First thy cant do that on locals since locals don't do 1080p. As far as the others as well they would have to get rid of half their channel line-up to get 1080p on the rest. And since they have less channels they have less revenue which means expect your bill to double. So half the channels for twice the price for a marginal improvement in PQ at best on a 60+ inch screen.
FYI - 720P is actually better than 1080i. Resolution is not everything especially at screen sizes smaller than 60".
No, that would depend on how well the 1080i is deinterlaced (if it's even truely interlaced), and how it was shot/produced (60 fields or 30 frames split to 60 fields).
Why do do you think almost every channel is 1080? (Other than it initially being more "CRT-friendly.")

NO, I wish people would stop this "1080p bandwidth OMG" stuff.
1080p30 would not use more than 1080i60 (slightly less actually), and 1080p24 definitely less (although not 80% after 1080i's duplicate field compression (3:2)).
Even 1080p60 that people freak out about would only use slightly more than 1080i60 if there's only 30 (or 24) unique frames per second (like 720p60 now, right...?). Easily compressed duplicate frames.
No, the channels use the format(s) they do for ease of handling mixed content. A movie channel, etc. could use 1080p24 if they weren't going to show ANY video-based content... and it was more widely supported in customer boxes.
Did you watch the video? And how would you describe a 1080i broadcast that is not 'truly interlaced'? What's that mean?
Most are 1080i because it was cheaper to implement. And I would argue 'most are 1080i'. It's about a 50/50 split. Disney/ESPN/ABC/FOX/A&E/HIST are 720P. CBS and NBC are 1080i.
As for the bandwidth issue you can do a few things...go all IP/unicast and/or move to MPEG4. Both would require CPE upgrades which providers loathe.
