Re: The Quiet Earth: Or Happy New Year. That film always has an odd effect on me when I watch it (I have a copy).
It's like watching the film On the Beach, and the ending is so seemingly final.
With The Quiet Earth, the ending leaves you thinking, could the end be like this, not a bang not a wimper, merely 'ok thanks to a peculiar accident, it's just over?'.
The final scene is also incredible. Well it makes you ponder, so where is he now? And where did everyone else go? |
