Re: [Speed] Slow Internet in Allentown, PAyou actually should have been in better shape they moved things around and that should have fixed it. However after they did that I didn't re-balance the modems *doing that now* hopefully this will improve things. |

Just reporting in with additional Allentown results. I have 15/2 service. Things have been all over the place for 2 weeks. Last nite, was getting as poor as 1/0.2 service. yes 1Mbps down and 0.2Mbps up.
This morning, the download is pretty good, 12 to 16 Mbps, but upload is really poor! Many times the upload speed test will not even finish. Latency in opening a web site is up to 5 to 10 seconds or more.
And the speed test shows all sorts of crazy results, often indicating download of 20Mbps or higher, and upload of 30 to 40 Mbps.
As I said, this has been bad for the 2 weeks over the holidays. It is time to get it fixed.
Maybe RCN could spend the 20% rate increase on some internet maintenance and repair?
Sorry, it's been a frustrating 2 weeks.
Walt

Thanks Bryan. Although, I am not noticing much of a difference. Do you think power cycling the modem and router help? |

Hello negativeduck, I haven't seen any improvement so far. Right now I am getting a paltry 2mbps. Streaming a vimeo video and seeing a lot of buffering. Can you help?

Thanks, I actually thought this one was tied into other problems with our other thread but since that's been resolved this actually appears to have gotten worse. I've sent a request over to the Local guys to see about getting some immediate relief into here. |
